Cancun property was right on the beach and it was awesome. The beach was great, the area was filled with people but not overdone (you could barely tell it was spring break there). Caracol had a huge plot of land. It would take 10 minutes to get from our room to the beach but I didn't mind it. They had so many amazing things on the property and it was so well laid out.

Caracol was a true eco-resort! I walked by many a wild peacock and saw pigs, deer, turtles and cats everywhere. As a lover of animals, I was all about it.

Cancun was probably my favorite room of the two mainly because of the balcony. While it looked directly over another hotel's pool, to your left was the lagoon and to your right was the ocean. The views were really amazing and you could see the sun rise and set from that very spot! For Caracol, I did love the bathtub in our room :) I wish I could have taken that back with me!

The Cancun hotel was a luxury resort so we were able to test out the Spa when we first arrived. Andrew and I did a quick couples massage and it was really fun. It was actually Andrew's first time so we'll have to plan it again soon. The massage and the people were so friendly and did a really great job.

We also had some free time in the afternoon on the first day to go parasailing! I had never been but always wanted to go and I'm glad we did. But would I do it again? Probably not haha. It didn't help that the water was super choppy that day and we had to wait in line before going up. To set the picture, the moment we got on and then again after flying, there were people with their heads in puke buckets. Andrew was a trooper!

At both resorts, the pools were awesome. Some of the best temperatures I've ever been in! The water was refreshing but didn't ever feel too cold. It was perfect. Aside from the pools, we also got to take an eco-tour at Caracol and swim in a Mexican cenote (shown in the video below)! Now THAT water was overwhelmingly refreshing and SO clear. Almost a little too clear (we think we saw a snake) but it was so much fun to do. One of my favorite parts of the trip by far.

Other amenities at the Caracol resort were water slides (yes Andrew and I went down all of them!) and a CAT CAFE! I wanted to hang out with all the cats and while we had a nice lunch a couple days together, it just wasn't meant to be. No one can replace Dixie!

Ahhh the food ... can it ever go wrong? It was awesome at every meal and I can't say enough good things about it. I was a little nervous going to Mexico and thinking that some items might not be as safe to eat or drink but totally trusted the resort and they didn't let me down!

I think the best meal we had was the breakfast buffet in Cancun. Not sure why it was so good (I mean I did load up on cottage cheese and bread) but it was very memorable! The last dinner we had at Caracol would be the only one I would have to complain about. It was a vegan restaurant *gasp* says the meat loving girl. I know! But I did survive hahaha.

Both resorts (and a third, Playacar, that we visited for a day) were amazing. What I really loved about them and I think what stood out the most was the fact that it was a very authentic experience. They're very proud of their Mexican and Mayan roots and it shows with everything they do.

When you go away you want to get away from your everyday normal and get a true experience of the area and location you're in. I think Sandos did a great job at that all around!

Amazing! This was the first time as an adult that I visited Mexico and I loved it. I can't wait to go back! It was also really special to have Andrew there. This was his first blogger press trip and I'm glad he was able to experience this with me. We both had an amazing time and are already looking into dates for when we can visit again.

If you're looking for a place to stay in any of these parts of Mexico, I would recommend checking out Sandos! They were a lovely host and I don't have one negative thing to say about my experience!
