If I could wear one color for the rest of my life (or non color for that matter) it' s white. I love the look of all white and how cool it makes me feel. Is that weird?? So when this poncho sweater came out I knew it would be perfect for my trip to Jamaica AND back home in NYC. It's so, so, so comfortable!

A Day Downtown in Chateau Trench Coat

One of my new favorite places in the city to explore is Tribeca/Financial District. The city is putting in such an effort to really build up the area and I'm loving every second of it. Excited to share more below about my day downtown!

New York doesn't have a ton of malls (at least none that I really know about) but we do have Brookfield Place. This is a girls dream mall with literally every high end and most shopped at stores! Basically everything from Hermes to J. Crew you can find here. Not only are the shops great but the location is killer. On one side you have One World Trade and on the other you have the Hudson River overlooking Jersey.

It's so chill down there and it's so up and coming that it's really the place to be. I took my niece here when I was babysitting and it was my first time in. I liked it so much I made Andrew go back with me the following weekend! I really wanted to go ice skating on their rink outside but when we went it was filled with little kids and it was pretty terrifying haha.

So instead we decided to hit up the lunch spots in the mall and really had a great experience. It was a little weird at first because it was just one big area where you seat yourself and order from any of the 5+ restaurants surrounding you. I got a steak and fries from the butchery and it was SO good. A little overwhelming the first time but everyone there is super helpful so they can show you the way! This place is totally a hidden jem.

But I was able to stop in at J. Crew and snag this new trench coat. GUYS I love this thing! Of course the gingham lining really sold me but I mean... come on! This thing is TOO cute. I'm seriously debating getting it in red. Thoughts??

I'm also sporting my new Ugg boots! I swore off Uggs in high school but I really think they've made a come back. That and I just love the look of the lace up ones. The best part about them though is that they're completely waterproof. How amazing is that?? They've officially become my new snow boot!

Primary Colors for Winter

Maybe it's because I'm ~so~ mature now, but I really love the snow! It's so much fun to play around in and on the day of our big storm I found myself wandering around the city for hours taking it all in. I was able to snap a few really fun photos that I thought I would share with today's outfit post!

Bright colors in front of a white background are always my favorite photos. The colors really come to life and it's awesome that such bold colors fit seamlessly together. I sadly haven't broken out this jacket in quite some time (it's more for rain than snow) but I just loved it so much I had to bring it back out. The last time I wore it was here in April!

Of course I'm not new to the primary color trend. I've been rocking it since September when I last sported it here in the park! Crazy to see how long my hair was back then. Some days I do really miss it but other days I'm like, "can I go shorter?" #TheStruggle

Anyway after the snow had settled the sun came out and it was my time to take some photos! I didn't really have an idea of just how much it snowed until we took these photos. It was up to the top of my boots! Every step was like, woahhh now...

I'm already planning out my adventures for this coming weekend. I just want to spend all my time in the snow! It's amazing how much you learn to love something when you find yourself appropriately dressed for the occasion.

Primary Colors for Winter

Preppy Winter Fashion with Barbour and LL Bean

I'm suuuuureee you haven't heard the news but it kind of sort of snowed this weekend in New York. We got pounded with two FEET of snow and it was AWESOME (see picture above).

Layers are totally your friend in the winter. It's best to pack as many as you can into your jacket. To be honest this jacket is a size too small so my sweater and oxford combo made it so I couldn't quite move. But of course it was totally worth it because like, I look great (see above).

I don't know why but winter totally brings out my preppier side. In summer it's so easy to go the bohemian/homeless route wearing anything available but winter I feel like you kind of have to put some thought into it. Is that just me?

Being snowed in throughout Saturday afternoon and night I decided to really give my apartment and clothes a deep clean (more on that later) and brought to my main closet a lot of favorite items like this old Barbour jacket. It's a classic beadnell style but totally vintage judging by the details in the coat. I remember I snagged this bad boy off eBay my first year living in New York and I'm still so grateful I did. You know how much I loveeee my red coats :)

And for those of you wondering where that snowball landed (the first picture from above) I'm hear to let you know it smacked Andrew right in the face and he caught my reaction. Not the prettiest picture of me but I was crying from laughing so hard!
