Happy end of October! WHERE did this month go? If you could find it and let me know, that would be great. But with it now being November that means technically we can start getting into the holiday season. Hehehe
I'm ALL in this year. Celebrating and planning early -- let's do this! But don't worry, I'm not one of those people who just looks past Thanksgiving, oh no no. A major food holiday? Yes please!

ONE / Ultimate Barbour Guide
Can we just talk for a second at how well this is made via Tuckernuck?? They seriously answered every question you may have about Barbour and it. is. awesome. Right down to what to wear it with and if the cuff is lined in plaid. They left nothing out.
I personally own the navy beadnell (last seen here), olive and black utility, green quilted cavalry, yellow trevose and a red vintage beadnell. Whew! That all? So really with all those jackets I could probably do my own Barbour Guide haha.
TWO / Repeat Offender
This outfit is completely back in stock for the season and it's all about 50% off. This red blouse is on sale here for $41 and this gold elephant skirt is on sale for $55!
THREE / Bad Lip Reading: Democrat Debate
I found this online yesterday and I was cracking up! This channel does a lot of bad lip reading but none that are ever as amazing as this one. Oh Bernie Sanders is a great person to do this with too. My #1 all time favorite? The NFL.
*and this now ends my talking about politics ever again*
FOUR / Tacky Christmas Sweaters
I was shopping around this week for fun sweaters and happened to stumble across this tacky sweater and just laughed! How fun is that?? I always love ugly Christmas sweater parties so if you're having one send an invite my way!
FIVE / Bloguettes Interview
Did a fun interview over on Bloguettes. Feel free to check it out to learn a little more about me :)

5 Products of my Week:
Quilted Leather Booties
Polka Dot Love
The "It" Poncho of the Season

Is it crazy or is it crazy that I'm posting about the HOLIDAYS?! I mean I know we're still in October but the spirit bug has really hit me early this year. Already counting down the days until Thanksgiving and starting to plan out Christmas shopping.

Who's with me??

I've been stocking up (and obsessing over) all the plaid skirts that have been coming out lately and blame that directly on my early case of holiday cheer. These skirts will put anyone in the mood and I want them all!

I finally went pumpkin picking and I loved it (as you'll see from the photos below). Not only did we pick out some amazing pumpkins this late in the season, we also carved them later that day. It was like we were kids again and it was awesome.

I've been bugging Andrew for so long to take me pumpkin picking (he has a car so I physically could not go without him) and I honestly didn't think we would get to go this year. October is hard for travel because of the MLB postseason and it means we don't have many free weekends together.

Luckily, things played out well and we've been able to enjoy some fall weather and finally cross pumpkin picking off my list of things to do.

While it was super late in the month to go picking, it meant that we had the place to ourselves! It was a nice little field with a ton of pumpkins to choose from. Isn't it crazy that this is my first time ever picking pumpkins? First apple picking and now this ... I'm on a roll!

Plus pumpkin picking was the perfect time to break out my new vest (!!) that I'm OB-sessed with. It's basically all you ever want and need in a vest. It's waxed, it has suede, it's olive, it has the two-in-one top/side pocket, it's from Vineyard Vines ... the list goes on! Gah. You need this in your closet for fall. I have no doubt this will sell so fast!

I've never been as obsessed with fall as I am this year. The trees are at peak color, the weather is cool but not cold and the sun in shining. We were driving around this past weekend and -- wowza -- were the trees just so spectacular. I feel like this is the first true fall I can remember in a while.

Camilyn Beth: Burgundy June Dress c/o / Schutz: Blake Sandals [also here] c/o / Fendi: Petite 2Jours / Burberry: Brit Bowpark Raincoat / David Yurman: Pearl Earrings

I believe burgundy is the perfect color for fall and every time I wear it, I question why I don't own more of it. I think it pairs well with my brown hair and pale skin, don't you?

I adore this new dress from Camilyn Beth. As always, (see Saratoga, last November, and Derby) she can do no wrong.

I've had it for a couple of weeks and was waiting for the perfect time to break it out. It just so happened that our friends' engagement party was just the time! It was perfect for the occasion because it's dressy without being formal, flirty without being revealing and comfortable --- oh so comfortable.

I paired the dress with my new favorite lace up shoes from Schutz but we're going to ignore my shins, okey?

I bruise really easily and tripping down some stairs isn't the best way to keep my legs bruise free #whoops. Do you know I weirdly have a strong fear of stairs? Going down them gives me so much anxiety. Now you can see why!

One of the best parts of fall is finally getting to transition your closet for cooler temperatures. I've officially made the switch from tank tops to sweaters, open-toe shoes to boots and I'm actually really excited about it!

Hunter: Original Tall Gloss c/o J. My favorite fall (and winter) boots have always been Hunter. They're so classic and can truly be dressed for all occasions. The best thing about cute rain boots is that they don't have to be exclusive to the rain! I've worn them in the snow and while apple picking (just to name a few).

One thing that is really weird about me: I love to wear skirts in the fall. It's weird because I'm not a huge fan of them in the summer because we have dresses and shorts to be worn. So in the fall I always seem to break out my favorite skirts and wear them to death.

Now here's a pro tip for you: when wearing skirts in colder months, it's best to decorate your legs. First, so people don't think you're crazy, and secondly, you can stay semi warm. Best thing to wear? Boots.

Boots of any kind -- high, low, over-the-knee, all the way up the leg, whatever you need! I personally like to wear the knee-high boot with a cute boot sock under. It gives it a little more pizzazz and makes the whole look more feminine. Plus it's fall, so you've gotta layer.

And if you're in the market for boots (of any kind) make sure to check out Zappos! They've always been a go-to for shoe shopping. They legit have the best customer service and free shipping. It's a no-brainier. This is my first pair of gloss Hunters and I love them! I'm thinking of buying the red pair next...

Not going to lie... this week did not fly by quickly at all. Had a lot of ups and quite a bit of downs but if nothing else it just reminds me to tell those around me how much I love them and to call my parents more! They seem to make everything so much better (always). How did they become such great people?!

ONE / Canon Project Imagination
I had the chance to go to this amazing event last night with Canon. They put on a ongoing initiative called Project Imagination and it's basically a campaign that celebrates user-generated content and provides the opportunity for it to inspire something bigger. They asked people to submit their best trailers (over 1,300 people did!) using Canon’s custom ‘Trailer Editor Tool' to turn their everyday footage into something more!
What's cool is that for the first time ever, a movie trailer created by a contest participant inspired a Hollywood short film- proving that anything in life can be a movie, and every movie starts with a trailer. The short filmed starred Josh Hutchinson and Jenna Malone and you can check everything out here
It was so cool being there last night and after they had an amazing party in the penthouse sweet at the Standard. The views-- amazing; the food? even better ;)

So a big thanks to Canon and Her Campus Media for partnering on this part of the post and inviting me to such a wonderful event!
TWO / Newsletter
Guys! My weekly newsletter is up and running! Woo. You can check it out here (and also sign up). But don't worry, I'm not trying to spam your inboxes. Basically I will be sending out exclusive Covering the Bases content that is only available to subscribers three times a week: Tuesday for a "Blogging Better" series (this week was about Instagram), Thursday for a fun Q&A and finally on Sunday for a weekly recap and a sneak peek into my week!
Sounds interesting? Be sure to sign up now!

THREE / Hamilton
This one is a bit random but I was listening to my "discover weekly" playlist on Spotify and came across this song called "Alexander Hamilton" and not knowing what it was, I really liked it so I started listening a little more. Then I realized it was a rap musical about Alexander Hamilton. What?
So I started researching it more and I found out that it is this huge up and coming Broadway play. I'm not really one for Broadway plays but I think I'm going to need to make an exception for this one... that is if I ever can get a ticket!
FOUR / Tory Burch Mega Sale
One of my favorite times of the year is the Tory Burch sale. Her pieces rarely ever go on sale this much and it's always the best time to snag the highly coveted reva flats or a new staple purse for fall!
FIVE / Holiday Cheer!
Would you hate me if started getting into holiday mode already?! I'm just SO excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas I can't contain it! It's the most joy filled time of year and I was to sing loud for all to hear!
You may see a fun little addition to the navigation menu bar at the top.... a holiday tab (!!!) Here is all of the fun content from the past years on the blog to get you in the spirit of the holidays :)
Song of my week: Justin Beiber - Sorry

I can't believe November is basically here and I can't believe I'm going on a cruise in two weeks! I'm going to be one of the very first people to check out the new Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas and I'm pretty excited.

If you remember from earlier this year, I went on a cruise with Royal Caribbean to The Bahamas with some of my best girlfriends and had a blast. While I had overpacked (a lot) I seemed to be missing a few essential items to make my cruise even more enjoyable.
But this time? Not going to make the same mistake! So I'm sharing my packing list today to make sure I am fully prepared for all the fun activities on the ship.

Krista Robertson, Covering the Bases, Travel Blog, NYC Blog, New York & Company, Preppy Blog, Fashion Blog, Travel, Fashion Blogger, Preppy Style, Vacation Style, Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas Cruise, How to Pack for a Cruise, Beachwear, Cruise Style

PJs: So I totally forgot pajamas last time! What the heck, right? It's kind of a big deal. But now I have a really cute set so I'll never forget them. :)

Workout clothes: I actually won't be working out during my time there but I will be doing a ton of really fun activities that need the proper attire. Last time I missed out on the rock wall (one of my favorite things to do in general) because I didn't pack sneakers.

I'll also need them for any activities I may want to hit up in the SeaPlex (the activity zone). I mean who doesn't want to ride around in bumper cars, roller skate or try their hand at a flying trapeze? Sign me up for it all!

AND I'm going to need these clothes for the most exciting part (!!!) the RipCord by iFly! I am SO unbelievably excited for this I can't contain it. The number one thing on my #LifeGoal list is to sky dive and I'm totally going to treat this as my trial run. How fun is indoor skydiving?? Did I mention I'm excited??

Cozy Cape: What's awesome about the new ship is that almost all of the rooms have balconies and there is nothing more I love to do than cozy up and just sit out there. The sound of the ocean is so so relaxing. What I found out (which is also so cool) is that even for interior state rooms, they have virtual balconies! So it looks and sounds just like a real balcony. How innovative is that??

Krista Robertson, Covering the Bases, Travel Blog, NYC Blog, New York & Company, Preppy Blog, Fashion Blog, Travel, Fashion Blogger, Preppy Style, Vacation Style, Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas Cruise, How to Pack for a Cruise, Beachwear, Cruise Style

Dresses for the night: I always love an excuse to get dressed up for a night out, and if Two70, the ship's high tech entertainment venue, doesn't give me the best reason, I don't know what will! The space looks amazing and I'm for sure going to find time for a show. I've been on a lot of cruises before but never found a want to see a show but now I will for sure! That is right after I get a drink from the robot bartenders ;)

Comfortable Heels: Comfortable heels are key for walking all around the ship and standing during North Star rides. Ever wanted a magnificent view from the middle of sea? Or how about a view above of NYC? This is the ride for you! The ship docks out of New Jersey (right across the river from downtown) and I feel like there will be no better time to take a 300-foot ride straight up to get the best view of the city.

One-piece swim suit: So this is a big one and one I've been remembering since the last cruise. I had SO much fun on the FlowRider (simulated surfing) but I could only go one time because I wasn't wearing the proper attire. My suit was allllll over the place and I just needed a cute one-piece to solve all my problems. And now I finally found one! Eeek yay!

The cruise is just for the weekend so that's about all I'm going to pack. What are some other fun items you think I'll need for my trip??
