Cue the music! Christmas is here in the Robertson apartment. OH CHRISTMAS TREE, OH CHRISTMAS TREE....

Wrapping Paper: Both from Marshalls
Ornaments: Burlap bells from Marshalls, White Balls, Slippers
Tree Skirt: Lowes but similar HERE
Dress: Rachel Roy

(On my console: White Elephants - old from TJ Maxx, Mini trees - from Marshalls, White console - custom from Ikea, Rug - old from Wayfair)

I have to admit that the tree has been up for a while now (oops!) but I'm so happy every time I see it I don't even care! I found the perfect tree this year. When I bought it in-store weeks ago it was only $99. The tree itself is everything I wanted: pre-lit with warm lights, slight flocking and pinecones, 7.5 feet tall and easy to assemble.

What I REALLY love about this tree is that there is only one plug. The rest of the wires go through the tree and connect through the stand. All you have to do is put the top, middle and bottom together and the tree lights up on its own. It's awesome.

As for decoration, I really didn't know what theme I wanted, but when I first started shopping I found those burlap bells at Marshalls and used them as my inspiration. From there I went to Michael's which is the mecca of all things Christmas and started picking out a ton of decorations that I liked.

I would take them home, put them on the tree, take away what I didn't like, return them and go buy more of what I did like. The plan was to have more of a neutral tree with pops of red here and there.  It's just not Christmas without some red! I grabbed some big poinsettias and called it a day.

As for the rest of the apartment, the TV console and windowsill are decorated. We don't have a ton of room, and I didn't want it to be any more crowded or cluttered than it needed to be.

What do you guys think? I hope you love it as much as I do! Let me know any questions below.

Truth be told, I have a fake Christmas tree in my apartment. But I love to be around real trees and smell them. It's the smell of Christmas! Is that weird?

Barbour: Quilted Beadnell Polarquilt Jacket (also HERE; similar) c/o / Halogen: Ruffle Hem Sweater / Barbour: Tartan Scarf (similar HERE) / AG: Farrah Legging Jeans / LL Bean: Bean Boots / Kate Spade: Signet Ring / BaubleBar: Monogram Necklace

I went a little crazy with shopping lately and ordered a bunch of stuff from Nordstrom and was a little sad to find most of it ended up not working out. A lot of it was sent back. BUT I did happen to find a diamond in the rough and it was this red ruffle hem sweater. It is SO soft. I don't know why it's so soft but it is.

It also runs a tad big. I ordered the M and feel like I would have been fine with the small. But I do really love the ruffle along the hem. It makes it unique in the array of red sweaters I have (it's a problem).

I'm also sporting a new Barbour! I have this jacket in navy and you know my motto, "If you love it, buy it in every color." This jacket has been worn all week! I love that it's warmer than the waxed jackets because it's quilted and has liner so you can wear it through the winter months.

J. Crew: Regent Blazer (old; similar HERE) / Halogen: Polka Dot Peplum Top / Lysse: Leather Leggings / Sam Edelman: Black Pumps / Givenchy: Mini Antigonia Bag / Nordstrom: Gold Drop Earrings (similar) Smashbox: Liquid Matte Lipstick / BaubleBar: Mini Monogram Necklace

I wanted to share another holiday appropriate look for work, or really anywhere you need to be a little casual but dressy. One of my favorite things to wear around the holidays are leather leggings. They're warmer than jeans but they abide by the "business casual" (aka no jeans) attire.

Of course the more formal of formal offices won't allow leggings. But this is for the girls who work in offices like mine where it's semi-casual to casual and even more on the trendy side (think PR agencies and startups). The key to wearing leather leggings (or any leggings) is to have a longer top that covers up some of your butt. I feel like once you have that, you're good.

I personally wanted to go with the all-black look with a pop of red (for the holidays). Girls get dressed up at our holiday party, but when I'm planning my outfit I want to make sure it's also something that wouldn't be absurd to wear in the office. I want something that blends in with the crowd.

What's better than all black?

I LOVE this peplum top (it's only $55!) and the little polka dots on it are velvet! The sheer and layered look gives it a little more dimension that makes it stand out. Lastly, I live and breathe by this blazer (that is long sold out) but I did find a really great dupe/second option HERE!
