Nothing says fall like a new Barbour jacket! Really excited to show you all this new style for 2016. It's unlike anything else I own and I totally love it.

Barbour Snow Bedale
Barbour: Snow Bedale c/o / Halogen: Mock Cashmere Sweater / Rails: Carter Shirt / AG: Skinny  Jeans / Ted Baker: Booties (old; similar) / Ray-Ban: Wayfarer Sunglasses

Out of all the Barbours I own, a Bedale was surprisingly not in my collection! So I was pretty excited to add this jacket to the crew. It's unlike anything I previously owned, which made me even more excited. My first black Barbour and (the best part) it has a nice fur lining for winter.

When I saw this jacket at the preview, I fell in love right away. The fur collar and the softest fur inside the zipper was awesome and I knew it would be really great for winter. One of the hard things about Barbour is that they are really made for fall. They are made for layering and adding liners, but not so much for 10 below or snow. Not to say I don't wear them anyway just saying they are not usually a go-to in the winter.

But this jacket... I think this one will be! It has all the great makings of a winter coat and still gives you that Barbour feel. What more could you want? I really love the long tight bottom half of the sleeves. It really helps keep everything warm and locked in.

We shot this look last weekend and it was SO windy and pretty chilly so I'm glad I was able to test out the jacket in real life. Did it pass the test? I don't know, I only wore it every day last week so you tell me.

Marshalls home goods

I'm teaming up today with Marshalls to surprise some loyal followers of the blog. Is there anything better than having your Pinterest boards come to life? Answer: no.

A lot of people always ask how I originally gained my following and I have to admit that a big chunk of people originally found me via Pinterest. It's such a great place to connect with readers, share inspiration and get some really fun ideas.
With the help of Marshalls, I was able find some pin pals (get it??), explore what their pin-spiration was and shop for them -- just a little way to say thank you!  Marshalls is such a fun place to explore and always find something amazing for yourself or those in your life. Walking around the store gives me so much inspiration to shop and find hidden gems. Just like Pinterest, you'll never know what surprises will inspire you at Marshalls!

So act surprised if you're reading this and know it's you for when your package comes in the mail :) Marshalls provided gift cards to shop for each follower and I can't wait to show you what we got!

For Pinner #1: Her boards were all about fashion. She loves fall and fall items so when shopping for her I made sure to snag some really awesome designer booties (perfect for fall) and an awesome black sweater that will be easy to transition throughout the seasons. I think she's going to love it!

For Pinner #2: Her boards were all about her new dog (the cutest BTW!) so I knew we had to get goodies that would make both of them happy. I found the most adorable doggy bed (makes me want a dog!), a really preppy winter jacket -- for the dog of course -- a cute duck toy and a super plush navy blanket that they both can enjoy. The steal here is definitely the blanket. It's SO SOFT. I may need to go back and get one for myself. I also snagged her a really cute clock for her desk at her new job!
For Pinner #3: Her boards were all about the home. Marshalls is a go-to for home decor and with the ideas Kim had pinned I thought of all the right items! First is the beautiful marble clock that will look great in her silver/grey/glam wine room. I also snagged these fireless candles since she had pinned so many of them -- a girl can never have enough. I also found this really cute decorative jewelry tree to organize all of her items. It'll match perfectly with her decor.
It was just so much fun shopping for my readers and I'm so thankful to Marshalls for helping with this fun adventure! As much of a treat as it was to shop for you guys, it was a treat for me. I really enjoy physically shopping at Marshalls. I always find so many things I didn't know I needed. Plus, the people are always so nice and ready to help you find everything (shoutout to Amanda at the NYC store for helping me track down a matching candle for Pinner #3)!

Be sure to follow along on the Marshalls Pin Pals Pinterest board. You'll never know what #MarhsallsSurprise is coming your way!

I'm just going to come out and say it: I LOVE a good winter skirt. It seems like an oxymoron -- wearing a skirt when it's cold out -- but it's ok because it's wool. It's crazy, but in the best way possible. And I've said this before: a good skirt is hard to come by, but when it's done right they are a total jackpot.

Case in point: my new skirt. It comes in three other colors (waiting for a navy version ASAP) as well as a gingham print that you'll see on the blog next week. It's everything you want in a fall skirt and I love it. I tried very hard to limit myself to two colors so that's what I did.

For sizing, there is NO stretch and I would say it runs small for J. Crew standards (TTS for regular standards). I'm usually an 8 in bottoms but a 6 in J. Crew but the 6 was soooo short it didn't look right. Got the 8 and it fit like a glove. The zipper is on the left hip and it goes about 5 inches down. It also has two pockets (that come sewn shut) in the front (not at the hips) that I don't love but will deal with by keeping them sewn shut. My skirt sits right below my belly button.

Another item to mention here is the sweater. You know I l-o-v-e my navy one and I love it so much that I went back for another one but stumbled upon the green version and was all in. Olive for fall? Yes please! Linking the sweater up I also saw it in grey sooooo I might need that as well. Idk... I'm not kidding when I say I love this thing!

BB Dakota Stewart Reversible Vest, Pumpkin Patches

I know it's super late in the season but if you don't have a day at an orchard with apple cider donuts, pumpkins, goats and great fall weather did you even experience fall?

My friend Ashby and her boyfriend Mike were planning on going apple picking this past weekend and Andrew and I had yet to go this year (MLB Postseason gets in the way). So we decided to make a day of it and really go all-out. We met them and their friends an hour and a half north of the city and had so much fun!

We crushed a dozen donuts, ate some fudge, wandered around the apple trees, fed the goats and picked some pumpkins. What more can you ask for?

It was a perfect fall day -- 60 degrees and blue skies but boy was it WINDY! My hair was all over the place (you'd never know I did it that morning). But I was excited to finally break out this reversible vest for the trip. This vest is awesome for fall (and winter) because it has everything you'll need: down for warmth, plaid trim for style and its 100% reversible so you are really just getting two vests in one. How can you say no!
