Monogrammed Barbour Jacket
Just got back from Vermont and now I'm off to Atlanta for the weekend to visit my family. And then this will be the last travel I have planned for the year until Hawaii for Christmas! Eek! That means the postseason is just about here and I'm so excited. Check out what made my week so great below...
ONE / Ultimate Barbour Guide
Stop what you're doing and head over to this Barbour guide! Tnuck always kills it with their guides for Barbour every fall and still you learn something new each year. If you've ever wanted a Barbour or are ready for another one, this guide (and one stop shop) is for you!
I personally have (and love + recommend) the Beadnell (in Navy or Olive) as a starter/must have because it is classic, a thick vest (that also zips into your jacket!) and a new style quilted jacket (seen above).

TWO / New Music
These songs might be old by now because I forgot to do a Friday Five last week but I still wanted to post about them because I have been jamming out over here! First is this "Closer" cover by Walk off the Earth. I swear it's better than the original! The other is called "Girls @" by Joey Purp featuring Chance the Rapper. I l-o-v-e Chance so really anything he sings on I love but this song is actually super catchy!

THREE / My Favorite Navy Sweater
Run, don't walk, to your nearest store to pick up this sweater. Omg I am in love. It's perfect for fall and you're going to wear it everyday. I swear by it!! I bought it last week at an event and have no. joke. worn it 5-6 times since. It's so soft and the sleeves make it super flirty
I bought it in navy and wanted it in beige but the beige was kind of see through (with a nude bra even!). But the navy is honestly perfect and I'm so happy with the purchase!

FOUR / Niall is BACK!
Heyyyyyy boo boo <3 I missed you and your sweet sweet voice. PUT IT ON REPEAT

FIVE / THE Boots
Y'all, I pulled the trigger! It was triple points at Nordstrom, I had a note and it just felt *right.* I've never wanted a pair of shoes to work more than these. I'm so nervous but excited. I just want them in already!!

Vest weather is the best weather, and in Vermont there was no shortage of perfect flannel-and-vest days. It honestly was the best fall weather you could ask for!

This is probably a go-to look for me during the fall: jeans, Bean boots, a flannel and a good vest. It's just so comfortable, warm and fall appropriate! I feel like a vest -- in a weird way -- kind of dresses up the outfit. They're just the best fall accessory (yes I'm looking at you blanket scarf) that you can never have too many of.

I just recently got my hands on this fleece vest from Penfield before the trip and I love it. I really love it. It kind of reminds me of this Patagonia one I always wanted in college but it was only made in boy sizes (booooo). I love the contrast of the colors and lining on this vest and I've already found about 50 ways to style it so I'm really excited for cooler days when I can wear this more often!

I also broke out the flannel for the first time this season and I'm PUMPED. I love my flannel shirts and it's no lie when I say LL Bean has the BEST flannel. Not only do they come in a ton of colors but they are so dang comfortable you never want to take them off. I've just about worn my red one down from the last few seasons so I thought it was time to change it up with this black watch plaid shirt!

Talk about a fun day (and weekend) in Vermont! Who knew going back to school would be so much fun :)

Each Christmas I ask Andrew for experiences instead of actual gifts because I love to explore with him and it's really the gift that keeps giving! So last Christmas I asked for a shooting school day with Orvis where we would properly learn how to shoot clays. He came through.

If you guys remember I had a brief experience with it last year during a press trip with Barbour. After that, I was all but hooked on clay shooting and I wanted to get better. You can even read in this blog post about how the shooting school was No. 1 on my Christmas list!

Orivs has schools all over the country, but their two big ones are in Sandanona, NY and Manchester, VT. Since I had never been to Vermont and we could make a quick weekend out of it, we decided on the Manchester school in late September. It was the very best decision and I LOVED it up there. Andrew and I are going to try and go back every fall to visit. The drive wasn't too bad either -- about 3-4 hours from NYC!

Anyways -- the school! We arrived around 9am and departed around 4pm. They fitted you for guns, they taught you about gun safety, proper shooting and stance. Then we shot clays all day with different angles and targets. There was a group of eight students and we were split up into groups of four then we would rotate.

By the end of the day (and to this day) my shoulder was tender. I was shooting with a 28 gauge, which didn't have that much kickback, but a full day of shooting when you don't shoot often can make anyone hurt.

Andrew did a great job (it was his first time ever shooting) and I did pretty well too. Actually learning the technique made me realize there was SO much more that went into all of this then aiming and shooting. There was a lot to remember but I got the hang of it. I can't wait to go back and do it again!!

If you have the chance, or are so inclined, book this school. It was so much fun for Andrew and I. We really want to make it a more frequent thing. The instructors were awesome and great to learn from. I couldn't have asked for a better day (or Christmas present)!

As for my outfit, ironically this is about identical to my look last year when I went pumpkin picking. But what's a girl to do? When you love something, wear it till it falls apart. That's my motto for this sweater. It's SO very old from ASOS and it is my favorite thing in my closet. It is the best all-around sweater a girl could ask for!

Andrew and I were in Vermont this past weekend and on our way home we stopped by the cutest little pumpkin patch farm. And we checked like 100 things off our fall to do list!

We originally stopped because we saw "warm cider donuts" on the side of the road. How can one say no? But we stayed for a bit wandering around the grounds (it was too cute not to). We got lots of donuts and warm apple cider, we met some furry friends, we saw a ton of pumpkins and we enjoyed the beautiful weather!

We seriously had the best time in Vermont this past weekend. So much so that I totally forgot to post anything about it or blog (whoops!) but sometimes you just need to live in the moment, ya know?

I snagged this dress for the trip specifically because I knew it was going to be a bit chilly but warmer in the sun. It's a great transition piece for the "I want fall to be here but it's still hot out" scenario. Did I mention it is SO SOFT?? Like so so soft. I could wear it for days.

PS there was this super loving cat walking around and stopped by when we were shooting. Then went from me to Andrew (who was still crouching down to take the shot) and the cat just popped into his lap! It was so cute!!

But a lot of my outfits are cute, so what makes this one strike such a chord with me? I told Andrew that it made me feel very college. Meaning this was how I dressed back then. For those who don't know, I went to U. of Kentucky, so being preppy and well-dressed was par for the course. So fall gamedays were vests, bean boots and a button down (pants or skirts were up to you).

I think what really brings me back is the return of my wayfarer sunglasses. Those were MY JAM in college. This was before all the mirrored stuff and before even aviators were cool. Wayfarers were where it was at. I wore them ALL the time and maybe shuffled through 4-5 pairs over two years (college gamedays are rough on the fragile).

With all the new and cool sunglasses out there, my wayfarers soon fell to the bottom of my basket (I have a literal basket with sunglasses in them) and I totally forgot about them. I had two pairs of tortoise; the 55mm and the 52mm (these are the 52mm) and I just simply tossed them aside.

Well, they're back and ready for action. I'm going to bring these back into the rotation because I honestly forgot how much I love them. And for the plain and simple fact that they make me reminisce on old SEC football days. #blessup

As for the rest of the outfit outside my love affair with my sunglasses, I'm breaking out the Bean Boots and you can get ALL you need to know about them HERE in yesterday's post

Finally, the boots are out with my favorite mini skirt. I bought this from J. Crew a couple years ago and I really just should have bought more colors. I freaking love this skirt and it is perfect for fall. Pairing two things that ideally don't normally go together (like a shirt and bean boots) make it work that much more.

And did I mention this vest? It's similar to the shape of the excursion vests from J. Crew and the fur vests from two years ago. The perfect union and something that will be a must have for my fall attire. Ya dig?
