Zen Oasis Club Med Punta Cana (& Video Recap)
Tuesday, December 29, 2015GUYS! I am SO excited to share my recent trip to Punta Cana with you! This was by far the best vacation I had ever been on and it was all thanks to this amazing all inclusive resort that I never knew about: Club Med. I jam-packed a week's worth of relaxing and fun into a few short days for you but I think you're going to love it anyway.
WHERE WE STAYED: Zen Oasis Club Med, Punta Cana
LOCATION:
I haven't been to other parts of Punta Cana so I can't say for sure but I think Club Med has the best location on the island! The resort first off is HUGE and it spans all the way down the beach. The water is bluer than the sky and the sand is so soft on your feet. It's also super close to the airport (like a minute away) so it's an easy transfer between but you still never see an airplane overhead (or hear it). You get major sun all day long and the buildings are all so low and far enough away from the water that you never have to worry about unwanted shade on the beach.
THE ROOM:
Wow, this room! I was the first one to stay in my part of the villa (aka the room) and I think even if I was the 100th, I would love it the same. I mean look at this place! W-O-W! The room was amazing. Open, comfortable, tech savvy and super cool. My favorite part had to be a tie between the bluetooth speakers and the bathtub.
The speakers you connected wirelessly to your phone and played in the room. The main speakers were over your bed and over the tub/shower which was so smart because that's probably where you'll be most of the time listening to the music! The tub was one of the best I'd ever been in. It was a major soaking tub and it was extremely comfortable.
Close second/thirds were the tiles on the bathroom wall and the private cabana outside on your lawn. It's really a win win win.
AMENITIES:
During my weekend there I was lucky enough to have time for a lot of extra amenities the resort offered. The more notable ones being the spa the Creative by Cirque du Soleil (both shown above).
The spa was one of the most relaxing places I had ever been (really the whole resort was) and the massage literally left me drooling on the table. It was SO good. The Punta Cana location of Club Med has actually partnered with L'Occitane so the spa was all with their items (and the rooms) so I think it gave it that little extra something-something. And while the resort is all inclusive, the spa is not part of it BUT it's totally worth it!
Now.... Creative was SO MUCH FUN. Old Cirque du Soleil performers teach you their ways and actually get you doing some really fun tricks. Our group tested out the trapeze and the bungie cord but there were also a TON of other really great things to try and do there. I could have spent my entire time at this place! My heart was bumping with adrenaline and I seriously loved every second of it.
Other amenities (that I wasn't able to try due to time) were golf, tennis, the gym, the water sports and off property excursions!
FOOD:
There were three different sit down restaurants at the resort and while I was there I was able to hit up two: L'Hispaniola and Indigo (pictured above). L'Hispaniola was the buffet style restaurant that served breakfast lunch and dinner during their designated times and Indigo also served breakfast, lunch and dinner but it was a service style restaurants and reservation were needed for dinner. Indigo is also 18 and over all day long and turns into a nightclub after dinner.
The food at both places were great. It was always something fresh and new but I think I liked Indigo better! 1- because it was closer to where I was staying (Club Med tried to create a adults only feel to one side of the resort -- more on that later) and because it was made to order. Plus the service was awesome!
THE RESORT:
So the resort was probably the nicest, most luxurious and relaxing place I've ever been to. I mean I was so relaxed I floated in a pool for hours one day. I don't know what it was about the place but I do know that I'm yearning to go back!
Our group was the very first to try out and experience Zen Oasis and Club Med really did a great job. Zen Oasis is an area of the resort where our rooms where. It was in the back of the resort a little secluded from everyone else but that is intentional. It's made to feel like you were at a totally different place and it worked!
Club Med is really known for their all inclusive and family oriented resorts. The thing they did with Zen Oasis is made it adults only-- people from the other parts of the resort are welcome to come but they have to leave their kids in the Mini Club Med area! What is so smart (and what I love) is that Club Med saw a need for adults needing to get away and made this whole area of the resort adult friendly. From Zen Oasis to Indigo to the Spa and quiet beach in front of it-- they're all so close to each other and made to feel like you're in an adult only resort.
It's a little hard to explain, but just trust me when I say that you need to see it for yourself!
OVERALL MY EXPERIENCE WAS...
AMAZING! Wow. I don't think I've ever had a better time on a vacation before. I want (and need) to go back soon and it's already on my 2016 travel bucket list. I've been telling Andrew all about it since I got back and will really talk to anyone who asks about it. There was nothing I didn't love about my time there and I truly wish you're all able to check it out for yourselves one day. #Goals #BucketList
Enjoy this fun (and short) video from my time at Club Med!
