Some of my favorite outfits come from throwing items together in the morning as I'm running out the door before work. This outfit? A creation of one of those times. Who would have thought suede on suede is so much fun together?

Wayf: Suede Dress c/o / Goodnight Macaroon: Plaid Wool Cape c/o [currently 50% off today only! Comes in three colors] / Stuart Weitzman: Lowland Over the Knee Boots [cheaper version here; even cheaper version here] / Michael Kors: Stop Hunger Watch

I wore this look (sans cape) to work last week and it came together because I really wanted to wear this suede dress from Wayf. It's so stretchy and really soft (it's like a faux suede) and I really try to wear it as much as possible.

So I threw it on and then checked the weather to see what shoes were needed. A little backwards I know, but just go with me here. It was going to be a cooler day but not cold and I knew I wanted a little more on my legs. I grabbed my lowland boots and really was like eff it. Who knew it would work so well together!

I know these boots are SO expensive and more than anyone ever needs to spend on a pair of shoes but I kid you not when I say they were 110% worth it. These are my favorite shoes to wear and I wear them ALL the time. I even have a second pair in my shopping cart as we speak just waiting for me to pull the trigger.

Working full time in the city really affects your clothing choices. You want something comfortable (Rule No. 1), stylish and easy transitional. I mean, there is zero time to go home after work and change before going out. So wearing boots like these check all those boxes. I think I wore them every day to work last week -- with jeans, skirts, dresses -- you name it. They go with everything.

If you're interested in buying a pair, I would check resale sites like Poshmark or eBay first. I always find a ton of designer goods on there at a huge discount. I don't know that they go on sale very often (if ever) so this would be the best way to shop them.

What's great about the popularity of these boots is that there are a lot of lookalikes. These Dolce Vita boots look really identical and they come in at $300 (which is still a lot for shoes) and then there are these Choies ones that are $85. But I can't talk about the quality of them so I can't totally get behind them!
