Upper decker:
A home run that lands in the stadium's upper deck of seating.

Remember the other week when I shot these photos with Tracy from The Right Shoes in Chelsea Market? Well we're back! I'm not sure how other bloggers take their photos, but for future reference I shot two or three different outfits at the same location and just split the posts up. It makes my job much easier! And when you have amazing places like this, you want to get as many as you can!

I wore this outfit to work the other week (go figure) and (you guessed it) out after! It's another flawless outfit that transitions so very well from work to play. I've been eying this dress for some time now. I mean for so long that I first wanted it in the spring colors. And now it's finally mine! I bought this Club Monaco dress on a MAJOR sale (still going on)! It was 25% off the already reduced price and I just knew I had to make it mine! You know I'm a sucker for anything stripped and I'm all about some leather accents right now, so this dress really just jumped at the opportunity to be in my closet. What's great also is that this dress will transition perfectly from winter to spring because of the short sleeves and material. I can also see some great layering options in the foreseeable future, kind of like the reminiscing of this post. Don't you agree?

Texas Leaguer:
(Or Texas League single) is a weakly hit fly ball that drops in for a single between an infielder and an outfielder. These are now more commonly referred to as flares, bloopers or "bloop single."

As most of you know, I was in Dallas this past weekend for a girls (and blogging) trip! I went with Danielle of Just Dandy, Emily of Life with Emily, Haley of Sequins and Things, and Caitlin of Southern Curls and Pearls who I've known and LOVE, but we also met up with a whole gang of Dallas bloggers that I had only known through social media. It was SO amazing getting to meet them all and being able to hang out with the girls I missed so so much. I'll talk about the rest of my trip later this week, for now lets get to today's post!

Caitlin of Southern Curls and Pearls, Kate of A Lonestar State of Southern and I found a fun little spot at the top of the parking garage where you can see the Dallas skyline! It's a little blurred out due to the camera settings, but it was such a fun little shoot with my two favorite girls! I've been so lucky to have the chance to meet SO many amazing women through my blog in real life. I mean, these people are going to be my forever friends. But Caitlin and Kate are two of the best and I can't tell you how sad I am that we're all so far away. They both have such amazing personalities and are so beautiful inside and out. I can completely be my weird and crazy self around them and they still love me! It's great to have people you connect with on this level who are so far away and that you've only known for a short amount of time. We're not bloggers who have friends, but yet friends who all happen to have blogs! Just really, really amazing people I can't say enough good things about. We've planned to give it two years, then we're all heading to Dallas!

I wore this little number below for some shopping, dinner, and out! It might have been a little more dressier than I normally go when shopping, but when you hang around this crew you gotta dress your best! I love this top and how big the peplum is. It's super fun and flirty. The sleeves were a little long, but I just rolled them up and went on my way. I would have worn my suede wedges, but my feet were KILLING me from the weekend so these boots were a must. I would have been crawling without them.

Home field advantage:
Teams playing home games have a small advantage over visiting teams.

I'm back to shooting inside! If you remember my last post (here) I talked about how I LOVED taking blog photos inside and how since I've now mastered it, I will be doing it more and more. I'm sure you also recognize the settings as well since it's the same place as my last post. I just couldn't help it! I loved the colors and the lighting in the room. It's one of the best spots in the house.

Now about this outfit... when the colder weather is here, I'm one to throw on my favorite skinny jeans and a comfortable sweater. It's just so easy and warm. Perfect to wear with a scarf and jacket for the really cold days. I bought this fun sweater from ASOS. I couldn't resist the turtleneck and color combo! It reminds me of a sweater you wear for shooting. But anytime there is a quilted elbow patch, you know I'm going to be all over it.

Playing in:
When the infield is shallower than normal in order to attempt to throw out a runner on third-base on a ground ball.

We all love a good color block, right? Even more so when it involves sequins? That's what caught my eye about this Collective Concepts dress from Piperlime (that and the major deal they were having at the time). I scored this dress for only $20! That my friends is what I call a good buy. What's even better is how well this dress goes from work to play. It really is everything you want in a dress that you can wear all day. I'm just waiting for the right opportunity to arise when I can wear this! Maybe Valentines day? Is that too soon to start thinking about? A girl can plan, right?

I also paired this dress with my favorite new black boots. I'm getting more use out of these than I originally thought. But I really love how the back of the boot is stretchy. It hugs my legs in all the right places and gives my legs a better line. That and they're an all day kind of wear. And in this city, walking everywhere-- that's just what my feet need.

Obstruction:
When a fielder illegally hinders a baserunner, the fielder is guilty of obstruction. The only time a fielder need not "get out of the way" of a baserunner is when the fielder is fielding or in possession of the ball.

Remember last Tuesday when I wore my LL Bean boots with my grey mini skirt? I said that I like to think outside the box with what I can wear my boots with. I think it's fun to find things to pair with them that don't involve camp socks and leggins/jeggings (for the record I DO love and wear that all the time). Just from time to time I want to wear them with a dress or a skirt because, why not!

I bought this dress from Gap a little while back. I had the similar one they made last year that was royal (UK) blue. But I mean, you can't just pass up a stripe navy dress. The zippers on the side also made it different and fun. I've been really loving Gap lately. They have great pieces! Very classic and easy to wear. Plus I think they have a soft spot for stripes (so I have a soft spot for them).

Home Stand:
A series of home games.

Here again are some indoor photos from my trip home. If you remember my last post, I talked about being able to finally shoot indoors and loving it. I've also mentioned before about this J. Crew skirt. I think by now, I've pictured all of the colors (white, blue, black and navy), and now we're on to pink! I'm not usually one for pink anything, but I really 1- loved this skirt and 2 enjoyed this color. It wasn't overwhelming and it surprisingly goes with a lot of different things. But of course, I paired it with the most basic white shirt (not pictured are my brown boots).

Tea party:
Conference on the mound, involving more players than just the pitcher and catcher, and sometimes coaches and managers.

One of the harder things I find that comes from running a fashion blog is taking outfit pictures when it's cold out. I mean, there's just no way I can look calm and collected when it's -2 outside and I can't feel my body. So when Tracy from The Right Shoes and I met up the other weekend, I suggested a place inside. Of course the problem we run into is always lighting. So it hit me when I was getting lunch downstairs in Chelsea Market that the lights on the ground would make for great lighting and the lights above would be perfect for a backdrop. Tracy was a bit hesitant at first, but I think we were both very pleased with the result! For the holidays, Chelsea Market decorates with Christmas lights and I love it. Always a great day when I get to walk under this!

Things to do in NYC

Walking home from work, there's a Gap on my way which I've found to be very dangerous. So I decided to browse some on my way home and found this amazing dress. It's striped, it's full, AND IT HAS POCKETS. I mean what more could you ever ask for in a dress?! I also love that I was able to size down for this dress too (dang you hips). I hope you love these photos as much as I loved taking them!
