There is no better pattern than fair isle for the holidays. It takes the most casual outfit and makes it festive (like this one). It also doesn't hurt that it's 30% off today!

J. Crew: Fairisle Sweater / Burberry: Trench Coat (more affordable option) / Bobeau: White Button Up AG: Skinny Jeans / Chanel: Cap Toe Flats (similar) / Amazon: Black Bag / BaubleBar: Monogram Necklace BaubleBar: Signet Monogram Ring Nordstrom: Pearl Earrings / David Yurman: Onyx Ring - X Crossover Ring / Nars: Red Lipstick

One thing I've learned about J. Crew is to never buy anything full price. They always seem to have a sale going on, right? I snagged this sweater when it was 40% off (I hope everyone took major advantage of that sale!) but 30% off isn't that bad either! Especially when it's under $60. You can't say no!

I can't tell you how many fair isle sweaters I own and continually wear throughout the month of December. It's one of those old school, cool looks that your parents used to wear but now we made it cooler.

On another note I can't believe tomorrow is December 1st! SO excited to kick off some fun content for you guys here and somewhere else (hint: go subscribe). Do you remember my 12 Days of NYC Christmas? Well it's back and I'm excited to share some new spots in the city for you to hit up!

I will see you all tomorrow!

Since there are 25 days, 15 hours and 7 minutes until Christmas, I thought it was only fair to decorate and put up my Christmas tree. This is my first time having a full-sized tree since I moved away from home so I'm pretty excited!

Christmas Trees in NYC
Sugarlips: Red Bow Dress (only $42!) / Steve Madden: Stecy Heels / Nars: Red Lipstick / T3: Curling Wand

Before we get into my tree, this is your PSA to let you know there are only 12 of these dresses in stock (from XS-L, 12 total). It's only $42 and is going to be a really great dress all year long. I really love the bows on the side! It reminds me of a Tibi dress but much more affordable :)

OK! Now that that's out of the way, let's talk shop. This is the first year I'm in an apartment big enough to hold a full-size Christmas tree. I decided on a fake one this year because I wanted to get it up early and because I won't be here for Christmas (I'll be home in Chicago). It just made sense to buy a fake tree even though I really wish I could get a real one.

This one is great but I don't totally love the LED lights. I wish they were a warm yellow instead. Also, the tree is a little short for my tall ceilings. But you live and you learn!

As far as decor, I totally hit up ALL of Target for some of the best (and most affordable) ornaments and decorations. You can see all the decorations close up HERE in my last YouTube video where I talk about and show everything individually.

My favorite ornaments are probably these little sweater ones. I think they are too cute! They are now 25% off so be sure to snag them while you can!

If you can't already tell, holidays in the city are my absolute favorite and there is no place quite like The Palace. Most of you might know it from Gossip Girl (where Serena lived) but I know it because of the tree; that beautiful, amazing Christmas tree. Outside of the Rock, I think it is the very best tree in the city and not enough people know about it!

The very best thing is it's in a courtyard off the street so it's not overcrowded (aka you can take great blog photos there!) and it's always quiet. In the city, that's a big thing. One of these days I will have a mini staycation there and get the full Palace experience.

I thought this year I would mix up the holiday look (although it doesn't look much different) from the normal plaid skirt and top like I've done for the past two years. You can't tell but I'm actually wearing a DRESS. And it's the cutest dress. It runs large (I'm wearing a 4) mainly because of the stretch in the dress itself.

I was planning on taking off the sweater to show you the cute ruffle collar but it was SO cold out (the coldest weekend we've had yet) and it was just not going to happen. But you can see the full dress here and get it for yourself if you like it!
