This was a recent "wear-to-work" look and I loved it so much I decided to share it on the blog. It's a great way to transition into the cooler days of fall. Yes, yes, the booties are officially broken out! Just had to dust them off a little and then we were ready to go.

I feel like people always forget, but dresses can make great transition pieces for fall. Just throw on a turtleneck or an oxford underneath and you're not only super classy, but you're ready for whatever wind may blow your way!

I'm also obsessing over this pop of red. I first just had on the lipstick but I decided the purse would also make a great touch (I usually wear a tote to work) and I was right! It creates such fun contrast between the black and white of the dress. I think honestly everyone should own a red cross-body. You'd be surprised at how much you end up using it!

I'm totally smitten over this look! This was basically how I dressed 90% of the time in college and I totally miss it. Being this type of preppy is uncommon in the city (and especially at work) unless you're on the Upper East Side. I think I need to bring it to the West Side.

I really just need to say "F" it and dress like this more. I love it! I'm trying to think of more ways to wear this skirt because it's totally legit. It's a wool texture and it's not as bright as you see online. Because of that it totally works for fall.

Also, I'm not so much into wearing primary colors, but I think this kind of works. How do you say no to a red Celine bag anyway!? It's a very "back to school" vibe and I'm diggin' it!

If you're viewing the blog today on a desktop, you might notice a few new changes. A.. how do you say... facelift! So excited that the first part of the new design is here. It's been a couple months in the making but I really love it. I will swing by later this week to fully explain and walk you through everything!

As for this outfit, this was the look I wore to the rewardStyle party during fashion week and something that I will wear on repeat over and over again. This fall (and in general I guess) I've been wearing a ton of beige and neutrals. I just love them and I think they're perfect for the season.

This dress probably kicked off the whole obsession but I mean how can it not? It's only $33 (yes you heard that right) and it's so so comfortable! I wish they made it in 100 other colors because it's seriously perfect. Great for work, great for drinks out--- great for anything!

This is one of the dresses I'll probably start to wear to work on the days when I have blog events or dinners after. I'm also kind of digging the faux turtleneck thing going on here, right?

My parents currently live in Chicago and I went to high school there as well so I do have some loyalty to the Chicago teams. Moving around so much and just loving the game of baseball makes it hard for me to just have one die hard team alliance. I like them all!

Of course I have ones I don't like and others I like more than most but in general, I just like to cheer for players, unexpected things and the underdog. I cheer to history to be made and a difference to happen in a a franchise.

My family has great seats to both the White Sox and the Cubs and every year I try and manage to come home for at least one game. One of my favorite places in all of baseball is Wrigley. The history behind the team (wether it be good or bad) is just so consuming and addictive.

*about to dive into some baseball knowledge*

Even more so when they're having a good year. And boy are they having a good year! They just recently clinched the Wild Card and will play a single elimination game on October 7th.

The Cubs haven't seen a postseason since 2008 (when I was still in Chicago), haven't seen a World Series game since 1945 and haven't WON a world series since 1908. Which, as you may know, is the current record drought for a team in Major League Baseball.

So to say Chicago (and every baseball fan out there) is excited to see where this can go is an understatement. I think if the Cubs were to make the World Series, America would have to turn into a Cubs fan. I mean, how can you not cheer for history?

Of course, the Cubs have some "obstacles" in their way. And by obstacles, I mean curses. That's why they haven't won since 1908, haven't you heard?! Curses in general are silly and just a reason to have when you don't have a legitimate excuse, but Cubs fans truly believe it (and sometimes I do too).

The curse is actually a very interesting story. In 1945 (last time the Cubs were in the World Series) owner of the Billy Goat Tavern (a famous bar in Chicago), Billy Sianis, was at the game with his goat when he was asked to leave because people were complaining about the smell. He was so upset he yelled out that the Cubs "aint gonna win no more." They lost that series to the Tigers and that was that.

The whole story is an interesting read and while Cubs fans have tried tirelessly to 'reverse the curse' nothing has stuck. Maybe this will be the year?

Sorry I got so sidetracked here. It's just such an interesting topic that is part of what makes baseball so great! If you want to learn more, google "Curse of the Billy Goat" and watch ESPN's "Catching Hell" which is about the Steve Bartman incident.

This week went by so quickly and now all of the sudden it's the end of September! It's starting to get cooler which I love but darker earlier in the day which I hate. So i'm unsure of how to react....

I've rounded up my five favorite things this week... what were your highlights?

ONE / J. McLaughlin
On Wednesday Julia from Lemon Stripes hosted a super fun bloggers event with J. McLaughlin in CT. It was so fun hanging out with everyone and shopping the store! I snagged this skirt (IT'S AMAZING), this navy and maroon wrap and this cashmere poncho.

I need to go back for this skirt in black, this scuba material dress and this scarf!

TWO / BAG OF MY DREAMS *heart eye emoji*
I would sob tears of joy if I owned this purse.

THREE / Dupe OTK Stuart Weitzman Boots
I mean how can you say no to these? They come in three different colors are look exactly like the SW boots that everyone loves. I'm eager to try them out.

FOUR / Bra Advice/Help
I need a good bra and I need your recommendations! I don't like VS so get outta here with that nonsense. I need a good full coverage, no padding, comfortable and supportive bra. Help a sista out! What are your favorites?

FIVE / The Splat
HAVE YOU HEARD?!?! Omg rejoice my 90's friends! All our favorite Nickelodeon has finally announced that it will bring back a our favorite cartoons. Read all about it here then scream with excitement because our dreams are coming true!
